Band stage performance
There is an alternative version of the video with only the band. The idea
with this version is more for promotion and marketing. So that clubs and
record companies who are interested in seeing what they are like on stage
can see the band in action. It's also posted on YouTube.
Making
the video
"I was very excited and at the same time needed to
stand in front of the mirror and do a double take to make sure that I
was not dreaming. Solé an unsigned band who has not yet recorded
their first album, is shooting their first music video on 35? That'll
be good for gossip. Who did you have to sleep with? Or, what's your last
name, Gates? None of the above. But yes, or first music video on 35, at
least a story to tell my grandchildren and they'll understand because
35 is here to stay. So I'm proud to say that the team that shot my first
music video was mostly made up of women, production, camera (100% shot
by women), lighting, wardrobe and props, make up, catering... Which is
great in a field which is so male dominated. We had 4 days of shooting
in 7 different locations, 96 minutes of footage clipped down to a mere
3 minutes and a half. Actually there will be 2 versions of the video,
but what happened with the other 90 minutes. That's film for you. Actually
I am thinking of taking the unused material and making a third version
called "What happened the other 90 minutes" which sounds more
like a horror movie about some football match that went balinky. Oh well,
we'll see what the producer says about that one. Tons happened and we
had a ball. Everyone grew tremendously and not in the least we band members
who I think for some was a wake up call to begin to take our work seriously.
There was one day when we were at this place called Old's Beach, where
in the middle of cold and rainy Gothenburg a guy has built an indoor beach
with a pacific island view, sand, coconut trees, bright sunshine,,, the
whole works. All you need to add is a girl in a bikini and your set, so
we were set, we came well prepared (thanks Emmy! you looked the part,
every naked inch of your beautiful body, nice bikini too). It was great
because the moment you came in you felt like you were in the Bahamas (for
me) or if your swedish, you had just arrived in Majorca. A warmth that
swept you away. And so after shooting the beach scene we shot the band's
live performance. Only our host forgot to turn off the fire alarms as
we had asked and our smoke machine brought the fire department to our
performance. We must've been HOT!!! Ha, ha, lame joke. So of course that
delayed us for about an hour and a half. And we still had a party scene,
bar scene and catwalk scene to do. To put is shortly we had take way thai
for dinner. Another day we were shooting in the lovely apartment of a
lovely family I know and the mom comes up to me after we had totally invaded
their place with all our crew and equipment and said. I'm going to take
some pictures so I don't think tomorrow that I dreamt all of this. I'm
glad to know all of this seemed like a crazy dream to more than just me".
