Lyrics
To the right are links to lyrics of the songs that Solé is currently playing. As lyrics are important to Andrés, he'd like to share some thoughts about the subject. "I write in both english and spanish, though I do like singing best in spanish because of the rhythmicality of the language. I used to think it was more beautiful in it's poetic possibilities, but I have recently opened my eyes to how wonderful the english language really is and of course for rock, it feels most like home. I love to get feedback about my lyrics, so please write if you feel inclined."

Northwind - pre Solé
This is a song that is composed and recorded before Solé existed. Andrés has done a lot of composing, starting when he was 16 with his first rock band "Arkaos". But his composing really took off when he was in a duo called "August". In 1997 he and a friend travelled around Europe for six months with two guitars and wrote about 50 songs. Since it was all acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies it was mostly quite mellow stuff. And this song, though written in 2002, is very much in the style of "August". The lyrics of this song are very much about living in Sweden, where the cold north wind blows most of the year.

Anzuelo
Anzuelo is a song that Andrés wrote the 13th of August 2002, originally called "La tuerquita". He now confesses what the song is all about. "The inspiration for this song is a frustration that I have had to deal with having moved to Sweden mixed with my eternal admiration of female beauty. Growing up in Colombia one is used to being treated with human warmth, even by strangers. Someone walks by you on the street and there is an eye contact that can simply mean hello, an acknowledgment of your presence. Or it can be a look of curiosity, a flirt, a respectful admiration, a gald 'have a nice day' or whatever, but a warmth and human contact.
Listen to Anzuelo
When I first moved to Sweden I was shocked by the fact that people walking down the street do not make eye contact. There is even a cultural joke that when a Swede sees someone they know walking towards them, they cross to the other side of the street to avoid having to make eye contact. So walking around the streets of Gothenburg, being totally ignored by all these beautiful women caused in me a great deal of frustration. In my head, I thought they considered themselves too good for me. I then came to learn that it is usually due to insecurities and fears and an absurd but long standing cultural tradition of not making eye contact with stranger. So in my head, I turned the situation around and created a song in which all these models were after me and I would totally ignore them. So why would they possibly be after me? So that is why in the song I am a rock star. And what would possibly allow me to ignore a totally gorgeous babe who is after me? If she is an airhead. I have never really been interested in a woman who has little brains. To fall in love with someone, I need to admire them, and their mind is essential in that case. The song is playful and light, because although the topic is actually based on pain and quite deep thoughts about myself and relationships, I didn't want to make it heavy. I wanted to make it a joke and be able to laugh at myself. I'm not a rock star yet, so I still have to sing it with a gleam in the eye."
SoléWorld
Solé is a band that through it's music wants to share a passion for life, to share their thoughts and feelings by putting their hearts on the table. The word Solé is derived from "sol" meaning sun in spanish. Their symbol is a precolombian sun. It represents their mission, them (the yellow inner circle) sending out their passion (the arrows pointing outward) to the world (the orange circle). SoléWorld is their world that they would like to share with you.
Solé's musical style
Solé writes original music which is filled with a passion for life and energetic rythms. Their creative and honest lyrics enhance the motley musical style with influences from rock, salsa, jazz, reggae, rap and Latin-American folk music. The sound is very much defined by the combination of drums, bass, guitar, sax and vocals, but is continuously being widened by the possibilities of modern recording technology

Mistakes
"To me the soul of Rock'n'roll is mistakes. In general, music that's flawless is usually uninspired. The people who go with the flow and make the mistakes and turn that into something special are the ones with guts. People who play it safe have no business playing rock'n'roll." - Paul Westerberg, guitarist from The Replacements
